Architecture
OpManager On-Demand probe approach for network monitoring is based on a probe-server model that works over the internet, where all the systems on the network are remotely monitored from one central server. It is hosted on our secure Manage engine datacenter.
OpManager On-Demand has been designed to cater to customers that include both MSPs(Managed Service Providers) and direct end users such as SME's(Small and Medium Enterprises). On gaining access to OpManager On-Demand the customer has to download and install the probe or probes on each LAN that has to be monitored. In the case of MSPs, who have multiple customers a remote probe has to be installed on each of his customers LAN,whereas for an SMB a single probe is sufficient.
Each probe provides auto discovery and monitoring and regularly transmits its monitored data to OpManager On-Demand. The data is collected from various remote probes through a series of polls, where OpManager On-Demand makes a request for a list of monitored data and recieves the required data from the polled probes. The collected data is aggregated and stored on the central server for alarm processing and reporting. Probes use a secure HTTPS connection to communicate with the central server.
Once the data is collected, detailed and comprehensive reports are generated and the administrator or assigned user can monitor or manage various aspects of his network.

Advantages
Easy deployment
A single data collection point is sufficient to monitor tens of servers.
Low maintenance
Since there is a single data collection point, day-to-day maintenance of the monitoring solution is handled with less effort.
Complete flexibility
Administrators can choose which of the servers and applications have to be monitored
