Adding Software Category

Different groups of software such as, software used for Accounting, Internet, Graphics, Multimedia, Operating System and so on are added to ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand using this option.

To Add New Software Category:
  1. Login to ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand using your user name and password.

  2. Click the Admin tab in the header pane. This opens the configuration wizard page.

  3. Under the Asset Management block, click the Software Category icon . This opens the Software Category list page. By default you have nine software categories displayed in ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand.   

  4. Click New Software Category link on the right hand side of the page. This opens the Software Category Details page.

  5. Specify the Software Category name in the give text field. This is a mandatory field.

  6. Specify any relevant information about the category in the Description field.  

  7. Click Add Software Category button to add the software category to ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand. The added software category gets displayed below the form.
